FTB Brand Ambassadors Ceara Knight and William Oosthuizen Win Titles

Surfing

FTB’s youngest brand ambassador Ceara Knight from Scarborough, near Cape Town, took the U14 girls Bos Iced Tea Cape Crown title yesterday at Long Beach. Ceara celebrated a maiden SAST victory; working really hard in the semi final by going for big a maneuver on her last wave in the dying seconds and scoring a solid 6 point ride.

This was a huge result and major upset, overthrowing young Zoe Stey, who was looking like the person to beat at the event. The waves were incredible for the final day of the contest and the level of competition was intense; as such, the final could have gone any way. It all boiled down to who was able to keep it together right till the end and Ceara’s last wave in the dying seconds that shot her into to first place.

Motor Cross

On the motor cross and endurance front, William Oosthuisen was also competing over the weekend. The youngster from Mossel Bay has been putting more effort into his bike riding of late and it is clearly paying off.

He has incredible support from his family and his sponsors and is really making a big name for himself in the endurance scene.

William said after the he finished the race, “What a awesome weekend of racing Thanks Garth Londt CSMX for a world class race”

As well as a first place finish in the regional open class, Willem came second overall. As a result, he is now sixth in the national open class and tenth overall, despite still being only 19 years old.

William said; “I would just like to thank my parents, Droomers Yamaha Racing Team, Carbon Teck and FTB Focus Trust Believe. Another big thanks goes to Wouter Smit who spent the whole week getting my bike looking and feeling factory-fresh!!”

FTB is proud and super stocked to have Willem representing us.
